The Solar Impulse Foundation was founded in 2003 by Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg with the aim of supporting profitable solutions that protect the environment. The Foundation became known for the 1st round-the-world flight in a solar plane in 2016: Betrand Piccarf made a 40,000 km flight without fuel.
And who evaluates the solutions?
The Solar Impulse Foundation's expert community is a group of professionals with more than five years of technical experience in one or more of our target SDGs. The experts play a key role in the labelling process and use their technical and professional expertise to evaluate and critique solutions seeking the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label.
